[UO2331] an Austin Special {14697} built in 1928 for Dagworthy, Sidmouth and was new with a ‘toastrack’ B6TR body. In 1940 it was rebodied with a Tiverton B13F body which dated from c1934. In March 1954 it was sold to Thompson, Weymouth for preservation. The owner was a fan of WNOC and had it repainted into Western National livery, later adding the fleet number plate ‘2854’ which he acquired from a breaker - 2854 was a Leyland-bodied TD1. In 1959 it became part of the Colin Shears collection at Winkleigh where it still resides; London to Brighton Run, May 1970. (© Peter Esposito via Chris Stanley)
