This photo celebrates the 80th anniversary of Western Welsh as recently celebrated at the Cardiff Transport Preservation Society’s Barry Rally; seen here is BKB713B, an AEC Renown with a NCME low bridge bodywork new to Western Welsh in 1964, which headed a cavalcade of three original Western Welsh and the Stagecoach South Wales especially repainted coach from the rally site to the former Western Welsh Barry Depot which is now home to the Cardiff Transport Preservation Group’s collection (© Robert Mac)

It was ordered by Enterprise, Scunthorpe in Lincolnshire as their No 60, but delivered after Road Car had acquired the company. It operated for a short while in Enterprise’s red/cream livery then repainted in green; seen at the AEC rally at Newark (© Dave Gothard)
